In 2002, MWE installed at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg a pilot-scale and instruction rolling mill designed to roll 1 to 8 mm strip at a product speed of up to 20 m/s. |
This mill, while lending itself to being used for students' training in a field-related approach, can also be employed for conducting industrial-scale investigations into new materials, their properties and metal working conditions.
Thus, Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg have metal working machinery and equipment for the entire process from the slab through to cold-rolled strip.
This mill, once adequately converted, can also be used to roll rod at up to 70 m/s product speed
